Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi also used it in his election campaign. The film is a dramatic summary of the 2016 Uri attack and India’s successive retribution with a surgical strike. The film that whipped up superpatriotic passion and fever hit the theatres on 11 January 2019. It released approximately a month before the Pulwama incident, which escalated the anxieties between India and Pakistan. The film was admired by the backbiter and audience alike and has achieved Rs. 244 crore at the box office.

Housefull 4

Akshay Kumar’s movie Housefull 4 is the fourth edition in the comedy film assignment Housefull. The video produced a lot of gossips online and on social media. They all gossip credit goes to the viral #BalaChallenge, which saw the trend of Bollywood dance to the tune of the fantastic song ‘Shaitaan ka Saala.’ Fames from Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh to Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor attempted their hand at the signature move of the song. They also shared the chuckle-worthy videos online. The challenge set social media ablaze and turned out, grabbing a lot of eyeballs. Housefull 4 earned Rs 205.22 crore at the box office and joined the prestigious Rs 200-crore club.

Kabir Singh

The bad boy movie Kabir Singh does brilliantly at the box office. It is one of the most controversial films of 2019, ‘Kabir Singh’ hit the theatres earlier this year. While the movie was a blow among the audience, it was unanimously crashed by critics for its description of the protagonist Kabir Singh. Some even called the film a ‘justification of hyper toxic manliness’ that arrived close on the heels of the #MeToo movement. The film left the audience split up and evoked polarised reactions.

However, the controversy did little to prevent the movie from coming to be the second highest-grossing film of Bollywood in 2019. According to the latest box office news, the film has accumulated a collection of Rs. 276.34 crores, and is still going robust.

War

War arises in the victorious club. The Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan-starrer’ War’, hit the screens on 2 October and immediately became a smash among the audience. ‘War’ unlocked with a collection of Rs. 53.35 crore on its first day, which is the hugest opening-day collection. The film joined the coveted Rs 100-crore club within 3 days of its release and smashed various records. The action-thriller movie came to be the fastest Bollywood movie of 2019 to cross the Rs 200 crore mark. ‘War’ is the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of the year, with a gross collection of Rs. 292.71 crore.

Bharat 

Salman khan’s movie Bharat charmed India in 2019.

The Katrina Kaif-Salman Khan starrer ‘Bharat’ blow the theatres on 5 June. As there is no Eid is complete without a Salman Khan release and the actor lived up to his commitment to delivering a blockbuster film at the festival. This movie is based on the 2014 South Korean film’ Ode to my Father’. They explored the rough times of the India-Pakistan Partition.

While the film obtained mixed reviews from analysts, it performed beyond intentions at the box office, clocking Rs 212.01 crore, cross the Rs—200 crore club. 

Mission Mangal

‘Mission Mangal’ is one film that didn’t fight shy of characterizing women in lead roles. It loaded a female star cast with Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, TaapseePannu, and provided them the roles of women who are full of deficiencies but still attempt their best to formulate ends meet. The film was admired by most of the critics specifically for this reason and emptied to positive reviews. It featured Akshay Kumar in the titular role, with the actor making his dual appearance on the list. And it amassed Rs 203.08 crore at the box-office, setting the cash accounts ringing.
